The California Academy of Sciences, or CAS, is a renowned scientific and educational institution dedicated to exploring, educating and sustaining life. CAS focuses on what they identify as the two most important topics of our time: the nature and sustainability of life on Earth. They are home to more than 100 world-class scientists. This design strategy focuses on the word “study” in the exhibit description. Botanical prints, not only enjoyed for their aesthetic beauty, are often used in academic settings as a form of reference. This design features a Peonies plant with the bottom half reversed out of a field of green. It is almost as if we are looking at an x-ray of the plant. The color palette of orange and green is drawn directly form the Museum logo.
